Designjet Technical Series
The new T Series printers from HP replaces the 500/800/1000 series. All new inks with a Matte black for archival line drawing, plus a photo black and colors for imaging & renderings, project schedules, flip charts, presentations, legal displays or production drawings. Print Speeds are FAST—35 seconds for a 24x36 dwgs. on plain paper. Main difference between the 610 and 1100 is the hard drive, 1100 has it, 610 doesn’t. T100 also has the option of Postscript language support for graphics arts, paper layout, proofing and tradeshow graphics. The rendering quality of these new printers is exceptional with perfect grey tones, sharp color and excellent detail. Ink consumption is down 2.5x, so the new 130ml inks are lasting as long as 300ml in previous form. That is due to the new head design from HP which last longer, are more efficient, and produce exceptional quality. Still replaceable when needed, they are slated to last 2-3x longer than the previous version in the 500/800/1000 series printers

HP Designjet Z3100 Review: "Absolutely
Brilliant"
 The
trend of glowing reviews for the HP Designjet
Z Photo Printer series continues with a Designjet
Z3100 review by HP influencer Michael Reichmann.
Reichmann posted his review on Luminous-Landscape.com
and used a combination of text, screenshots and
vodcasts. The overall tone of his review can best
be summarized by his introduction, in which he
wrote, “It isn't often that a new product
comes along which attempts to redefine a product
category. And it is less often that such a product
emerges fully developed, virtually flawless in
its execution and largely fulfilling its promise.
Such a product is the new Z series of pigment
photographic printers from HP.”
Reichmann went into great depth about the printer,
concluding that HP has stolen the number one spot
from Epson for large-format, 12-ink printing.
The embedded spectrophotometer, Gloss Enhancer
and quad inks were the key features that convinced
Reichmann that HP was leading the industry.

“And, as for the assembly process, I'm
the type of person who finds putting together
any type of Ikea furniture to feel like a day
spent in the 6th Circle of Hell. So when I say
that assembling the Z3100 was a breeze, you can
appreciate what I mean.”
“If you've gotten this far in the review,
you'll have gathered that I'm mightily impressed
with the HP Z3100. The company appears to have
really sweated the details and produced what can
only be called an absolutely brilliant printer.
Truly state of the art. And while the price may
appear to be higher than the competition, when
you factor in the built-in profiling spectrophotometer,
40GB hard drive and web server, along with 12
inks, 4 simultaneous blacks and a Gloss Enhancer,
the value for the money is clearly there.”
“Finally, for those printing on glossy
and semi-gloss papers, the Gloss Enhancer in the
HP printer is a big plus when compared against
the Canon offering. And, let's not even talk about
documentation and ease of use. The HP is streets
ahead of the Canon in this regard.”

Important warranty changes for HP 70, 90 & 130
customers
Effective June 1st, all low-end HP Designjets (Designjet 130
and below) will move to an ONSITE warranty/repair strategy
versus the current Express Exchange model. There will no longer
be any Express Exchange services for Designjet products. Now
HP Service will be sending a technician out to repair a unit,
rather than having the customer ship the unit back to HP.
